This chest is made almost entirely out of quarter sawn wood harvested from an 85 year old Pennsylvania Cherry Tree. The curly maple drawer fronts are veneered with birds-eyed maple. The solid walnut drawer pulls emulate the f-holes found on early semi-hollow body guitars and the cabriole legs are designed to look like an eighth note on a musical staff.
Drawer blades are made with wedged through tenons on both sides of the chest reminiscent of arts and crafts styled furniture. Balanced by hand crafted beading on the lower unit found in Queen Anne period furniture. Exceptional Mortise and tenon Joinery is used trough-out, and finally the drawers are French dovetailed.
As if this wasn’t enough… with a slight modification the top three drawer section of the chest can be removed and stored separately allowing the cabriole legged acoustic drawer portion to be used as a “see into the drawer” coffee table
The original chest pictured is for sale for $ 6750 or you can have one custom built to your specifications for your personal guitar collection. The interior drawer fabric is offered in red or black.
